The Response to the Water Buffalo Movie

Wow, what a response. We’re touched by all the emails, feedback, comments, and different web sites that have already picked this story up in such a short amount of time.

News:

– I have added a ‘low-bandwidth’ version of the movie here for all the viewers with slower connections.

– in just about 48 hours, we’ve had people contact us wanting to fly to China to give a gift of some sort themselves, we’ve had book offers, thousands of people have already viewed the movie, people want to donate more water buffalos, I’ve received a lot of nice words about my cover of The Fray’s “How to Save a Life” in the soundtrack (… alright!), and most importantly, people are thinking about this issue, talking about it, debating it, it’s great!

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughtful emails, and if you enjoyed the short, please pass it along to a friend.

  1. This is a lovely story, touching really. But while I am happy for the family, I have great difficulty with the issue of animal exploitation. It is hard for me to be happy for the family at the expense of the buffalo’s destiny, which is to work hard until he can no longer do so, then probably be killed for meat. To say that I can live with this is to say that I value human life above those of other creatures, and I really do not believe so.

  2. Very easy to write what you wrote when you do not live the life they live, Carol Lee. I have noticed lots of people in Northamerica will show lots of love, and would defend to a really great extend, animals, while they will not do the same for, lets say, children or other fellow human beings. Really weird we are…

  3. What a wonderful way to show the world how we can help others. Watching this video sure does make me feel grateful for all the the things that I take for granted here in the United States. I plan on sharing this video with my high school students with hopes that they can create meaningful videos that might change the world.
