CBC Freestyle Radio Broadcast – Water Buffalo Movie

Update: Listen Robert Thompson’s interview with CBC radio (Sirius) about the water buffalo movie here.

Listen to it live, today!

“People can listen today by going to www.cbc.ca, clicking on RADIO then LIVE RADIO. This pulls up a map of Canada. If they click on Victoria (far left of the map) around 3:00 or 3:30 pm.”

Or just go here and on the right side, click Victoria.

If you missed it, I’ll have a direct link soon of the actual broadcast.

I was interviewed last week by CBC’s Freestyle show and the topic was the water buffalo movie (movie details here) I made with my wife, Chun Mei — graciously donated by Philip Greenspun and Craig MacFarlane.

  2. Hi Robert

I just heard you on CBC radio today and well what caught my attention was a talk about Yunnan so I decided to pay close attention to the radio. I tried to search your name to find your movie but had no luck but fortunately they announced your website on the air and watched you film for myself. Wow! excellent movie, well done. Actually I should say I am heading off to China myself February 23 flying into Nanning, Guangxi for my second time. I recieved an EMail from a friend of mine in Yulin who introduced me to the dean of foreign language at the university and they asked me if I could teach japanese. I accepted and here I am working visa and ticket on hand and waiting the departure day. Besides languages I am also a photographer and amateur film maker. Also as a potter I have become interested in more applied ceramics and ceramic water filter technology. Anyway enough for now hope you have a great new year and looking forward to reading your blog more ??

  3. After hearing you on CBC Radio on our way home we wrote down your website. I just watched the movie and was let me say, moved. I can’t wait for my Wife to see it. It’s late so it will have to wait till the morning, maybe the afternoon. If I know her and I think I do , (after 23 yrs) she won’t have a dry eye. This is the kind of thing that makes a difference. It makes me think that maybe we all should endevour to do the something. Even here at home. You are truly an insperation. Just thought you should know.
