   Total BS. Aperture team did not get laid off, documented in other blogs, etc. Cringely is a blowhard, always has been.

   Cringely or no, every year there was a rumor that Microsoft was going to buy Macromedia, and it didn’t happen. Pundits are always speculating about this stuff.

   Caveat: If a mega merger like this was going to happen, I would never know in advance. For example, the ADBE/MACR merger was secret from all but the highest executives until it was announced at an employee all hands.

   I have to say it would be cool if you worked for Steve. Think about the endless possibilities. Logic for cheap? FC for cheap? Perhaps Macbooks for cheap! All the free downloads you can handle on ITS?

   I get about 8% off Apple, Dell, etc. via corporate purchase programs through working at ADBE. (I think it’s a little less than the ~10% student discount that I think Jim went with on his last Apple purchase.)
